Ready for show time?
Advanced Camp is for campers ages 14 through 18. Enrollment is limited to 45 applicants who are chosen through a selection process. Up to 15 advanced campers are selected to participate in the Smirkus Camp Road Show, a group that performs for local non-profit organizations.

Compete with Yourself
Though unpressured, Advanced Camp does carry a high expectation for serious training. Self-directed, supervised training is integral. Working with coaches and staff, each camper will develop her/his own training regime.

Show us Your Stuff
Prior circus training is required, particularly in the areas of aerials and acrobatics. For this session, we are looking for young people with circus skills already established who have a great attitude and are willing to work hard to improve their artistry.

Show Time
All 45 of the Advanced Campers work together and with the coaches and staff to design their exciting final shows for family and friends, which are performed on Saturday morning, the last day of the session

It's Still a Camp, Silly!
This is Smirkus Camp and there is always time for some fun! Along with the hard work and dedication to circus arts, the young people in this camp session enjoy other camp activities, including theme-oriented dinners, talent shows and more.

Here's How
After sending your registration form and deposit, you will need to mail the Advanced Camp Application and two reference forms (to be completed by coaches and/or teachers), along with a 3-6 minute audition video, in VHS or DVD format, showcasing your various circus skills.

Completed audition materials are reviewed first come, first served. Qualified applicants will be enrolled until the 45 spaces are filled, after which a wait list will be started.

Applicants will be notified of their advanced camp status within two weeks of receiving audition materials. For those not accepted into the program, never fear, our regular and intermediate camp sessions are just as packed full of fun and opportunity to hone your skills.

If the applicant decides not to attend another camp session, the deposit will be refunded, less a $50 processing fee.

Which Camp is Best for You? Choose from 2-day to 2-week residential sessions for ages 6 to 18, with beginning to advanced skillls. Smirkling Camp Two-day (one-night) introductory sleepaway camp for kids 6 to 9 years old. Smirkus Camp (Sessions I, II & III) 1- and 2-week sleep-away sessions for campers ages 8 to 16 with beginning to advanced skill levels. Intermediate Camp For ages 10 to 17 who have previously attended Circus Camp for at least two seasons, or have equivalent skills. Advanced Camp Campers ages 14 to 18 with advanced circus skills audition for 45 places.
